- Projekt GINIE
GINIE is an IST programme Accompanying Measure that will develop the European Geographic Information Strategy based on the EUROGI Strategy. It will also work on GI Capacity Building and Awareness Raising. Its tools include building reference communities based on government and industry.
- Projekt INSPIRE
INSPIRE (Infrastructure for Spatial Information in Europe) is a recent initiative launched by the European Commission and developed in collaboration with Member States and accession countries. It aims at making available relevant, harmonised and quality geographic information to support formulation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of Community policies with a territorial dimension or impact.
INSPIRE is a legal initiative of the EU that will address technical standards and protocols, organisational and co-ordination issues, data policy issues including data access and the creation and maintenance of spatial information.

is the central-hub for Europeans Geographic Information (GI) developments a unique and diverse network working for the good of all concerned with European GI; National Mapping and Cadastral Agencies (NMCAs), the European Commission, GI users and Value Added Resellers.

FIG was founded in 1878 in Paris. It is a federation of national associations and is the only international body that represents all surveying disciplines. It is a UN-recognised non-government organisation (NGO) and its aim is to ensure that the disciplines of surveying and all who practise them meet the needs of the markets and communities that they serve. It realises its aim by promoting the practice of the profession and encouraging the development of professional standards.
